Today has been a feel good day; the first that I have had in quite a while. It has not been a grand day, but it has been special to me and to us because we had glimpses of normalcy.
We are still waiting on the official diagnosis to know if this is a relapse of chronic mylogenous leukemia (cml) or a mutation, some other version (we are hoping for a relapse of cml—never thought I would say that).
The recent days have been jam packed with tough events because my blood cells are not working the way that they are supposed to work. I am not going to get into all of that right now. Briefly, my oncologist changed my chemotherapy and I am tolerating it well. I think that I will end up liking it better than what I used to take.
The crohn’s flare continues to heal so I am able to add more foods to my diet. This morning, I had a crohn’s friendly, migraine friendly, anti-inflammatory super healthy and very tasty smoothie made of pure blueberries. That is all.
I did cook them before blending because right now raw foods would be too harsh for my GI tract. I boiled 1 cup of blueberries in 1 cup of water for ~7 minutes. Blended the blueberries and water (plus a few ice cubes) until compltetly smooth. It was still slightly warm and a very nice, healthy treat on this sunny January morning.
Healing is about slowing down before you can speed back up. That is where we are right now.
And today we had a feel good day.
